This is because of the accident at home where grandmother died and mother became even more crazy. Earlier, the bullies argued with both Amir and his best friend Sten. The bullies were arguing and terrorizing them. They threw dog poo into Sten’s letterbox at the front door, robbed them of their bike valves, and then while they were out cycling. They could stop them and threaten to beat them if they didn’t get their valves. And the valves they threw away coldly. Sten and Amir bought new valves. But as soon as the bullies showed up, they got rid of them again. Soon they got tired and locked their bikes in the families’ basement storage. They have filed a police report against the bullies. But they just deny that they would fight with Sten and Amir. So words stand against words, and the police do not come any further in their investigation.
