Maria: or, The Wrongs of Woman e-bok

Maria: or, The Wrongs of Woman is an unfinished sequel to Mary Wollstonecraft’s book A Vindication of the Rights of Woman. It was published posthumously by Wollstonecraft’s husband, William Godwin. It is the story of a woman imprisoned in an insane asylum by her husband. It focuses on societal wrongs of woman and criticises the patriarchal institution of marriage in eighteenth-century Britain. Mary Wollstonecraft was a British writer, philosopher and advocate of women's righs. She is regarded as one of the most important feminist philosophers. During her brief career she wrote novels, treatises, a travel narrative, a history of the French Revolution, a conduct book, and a children's book.
