Bente Clod (b. 1946) made her debut in 1976 with the book 'The Authorized Version and other Infights'. She has also written a number of novels on the role of women and the development of a lesbian identity, including 'Women Must Never Lose Sight of Each Other Again!' (1977), 'Seven Minds or In Doubt' (1980) and 'Wait Till You Hear Me Laugh!' (1983). Bente Clod has also written several collections of poetry, including 'Between Us' (1981) and 'Sun Blinding' (1986). She has received a three-year working grant from the Danish Arts Foundation, and in 1981 she was nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize. In the spring of 2003, Bente Clod was awarded the Ministry of Culture's Prize for Children and Young People's Literature for the trilogy of novels 'Angel Power', "Top of Their Lungs' and 'Heavenly Fall' (2000-2003).
